20-Foot HVLS Fans: High-Volume Airflow for Large Facilities

For spaces needing more than 15,000 square feet of coverage, our 20-foot HVLS fans deliver serious airflow for warehouses, distribution centers, and industrial buildings. At 20 feet, you're moving into the upper tier of the Hunter Industrial lineup: fans built for large, open floorplates, tall ceilings, and demanding environments where smaller fans simply don't have the reach. Three models give you a choice of spec level, coverage footprint, and budget, all at the same 20-foot diameter and all backed by Hunter Industrial's Direct Drive Motor engineering.

Our 20-Foot HVLS Fan Lineup

Three performance tiers. Same massive 20-foot diameter. Choose the one that matches your coverage needs, structural capacity, and budget.

Titan 20'

Hunter Industrial's flagship, a single 20’ Titan HVLS Fan, covers 15,625 sq. ft., the largest footprint in the 20-foot lineup, driven by the same Direct Drive Motor and patented structural-grade steel blade holder found throughout the Titan series. At 190 lbs., it delivers the highest coverage per unit and pairs with Hunter Industrial's full controller ecosystem, including BMS integration via BACnet and Modbus. Adjustable downrod from 2 to 10 feet. Limited Lifetime Warranty. AMCA certified.

ECO 20'

The 20' ECO HVLS Fan brings aerospace-engineered blades and a Direct Drive Motor to a 10,000 sq. ft. coverage area at a lighter 145 lb. hanging weight. It runs at 77 RPM, slightly faster than the Titan, and is a practical fit for large facilities where the Titan's footprint exceeds what a single zone requires, or where structural load tolerances favor a lighter installation. AMCA Certified. Adjustable downrod from 2 to 10 feet. Limited Lifetime Warranty.

DDI 20'

The DDI HVLS fan delivers simple, high-volume airflow without compromise. A single 20’ DDI fan covers 11,000 sq. ft. at 71 RPM and comes in at 141 lbs., the lightest of the three 20-foot options. Available in three adjustable downrod ranges (2.5'–4', 4.5'–6', and 6.5'–10'), the DDI gives you flexibility to match the mounting height to your facility's ceiling conditions. Available in 20' and 24' diameters. 5-Year Warranty.

20-Foot HVLS Fan Specs at a Glance

Three models, three coverage levels. All 20 feet in diameter. The Titan leads on coverage area; the DDI offers the lightest hanging weight; the ECO sits between them on both counts.

Series Max Affected Area Max Speed Hanging Weight
Titan 20' 15,625 sq. ft. 73 RPM 190 lbs
Eco 20' 10,000 sq. ft. 77 RPM 145 lbs
DDI 20' 11,000 sq. ft. 71 RPM 141 lbs

Note: Max affected area assumes standard ceiling height and unobstructed floor plan. DDI carries a Limited 5-Year Warranty; Titan and ECO carry a Limited Lifetime Warranty. Consult our team for multi-zone or complex layout planning.

The Large Facility Specialist

At 20 feet, you're in the range where a single fan can cover an entire large bay, hangar zone, or production section. These are the environments where the 20-foot lineup earns its place.

Large Warehouses & Distribution Centers

High-bay warehouses with ceiling heights between 20 and 40 feet represent the home turf of 20-foot HVLS fans. Titan's 15,625 sq. ft. coverage footprint handles a full warehouse bay from a single mounting point, pushing a sustained column of air to floor level across the entire zone. In multi-bay facilities, a coordinated arrangement of 20-foot fans, spaced and oriented to the floor plan, delivers consistent, even circulation without the energy cost of running multiple smaller units in every aisle. The result is a more comfortable environment for your workforce and less strain on your HVAC system year-round.

Aviation & Maintenance Facilities

Aircraft hangars present a specific airflow challenge: very high ceilings, large open volumes, and the need to destratify air without creating turbulence that interferes with maintenance work or affects aircraft surfaces. Hunter Industrial's 20-foot fans are purpose-suited to this environment. The slow rotation pushes a wide, gentle air column that reaches floor level without creating concentrated drafts. In colder climates, the fan's ability to recirculate warm air from near the ceiling keeps hangars comfortable and helps protect aircraft systems from temperature extremes. Consistent airflow also helps reduce the risk of slippery surfaces, deter pest activity, and keep dust from settling on aircraft and equipment.

Heavy Industrial & Manufacturing

In heavy industrial environments, such as foundries, fabrication shops, and large assembly plants, heat and humidity accumulate in ways that smaller fans can't address. A 20-foot HVLS fan moves enough air to destratify the thermal column across a large production floor, reducing the perceived temperature by up to 10°F and improving working conditions in areas where heat exposure is a genuine safety and productivity concern. The Direct Drive Motor handles continuous operation in demanding environments without the maintenance burden of belt-driven systems.

Sizing & Installation Pro Tips

At 20 feet, you're dealing with a fan that can cover an entire large bay on its own, but getting the placement right matters at this scale.

  • Ceiling height sweet spot: 20-foot fans perform reliably from 10 to 50 feet above the floor. For aviation hangars and high-bay warehouses in the 20–40 ft. ceiling range, a 20-foot fan is often the right size to maximize the airflow column's reach to floor level.
  • Mounting height (Titan, ECO, and DDI): All 20' models use Hunter Industrial's adjustable downrod, ranging from 2 to 10 feet, for precise height positioning.
  • Fan spacing (multi-fan installations): For large facilities requiring multiple fans, follow Hunter Industrial's recommended spacing for 20-foot models. At this diameter, proper spacing is critical to support coverage zones connect without overlap creating turbulence.
  • Structural load: At 190 lbs. (Titan), 145 lbs. (ECO), and 141 lbs. (DDI), all three models require a confirmed structural load rating before installation. Standard I-beam, Glulam, Unistrut, and purlin mounting are all supported. Have your structural engineer verify capacity, especially in older facilities or in non-standard roof structures, such as those found in aviation hangars.
  • Account for obstructions: In tall facilities with overhead cranes, catwalks, lighting rigs, or mechanical systems, map your clearance zones before selecting mounting points. An obstructed fan is an underperforming fan.
  • Seasonal operation: Push air downward in summer for maximum floor-level perceived cooling effect. Reverse direction in winter to recirculate the significant volume of warm air that accumulates near high ceilings in large industrial spaces.

Pro tip: Large facilities, especially those with high ceilings, multiple zones, or irregular floor plans, benefit from a proper airflow study before finalizing fan placement. Our team can review your layout, including ceiling heights and structural constraints, to help you get placement right the first time.
