14-Foot HVLS Fans: Perfect Airflow for Mid-Size Spaces

Ideal for facilities up to 7,744 square feet, Hunter Industrial 14-foot HVLS fans deliver powerful, energy-efficient circulation for automotive shops, gyms, and manufacturing areas. A single 14-foot fan moves a column of air across your entire floor, quietly, consistently, and without the overhead cost of running a bank of smaller traditional units, this is the upgrade that changes how your facility feels year-round.

Our 14-Foot HVLS Fan Lineup

Three performance tiers. Same massive 14-foot diameter. Choose the one that fits your budget and coverage needs.

Titan 14'

Premium performance for larger mid-size spaces. At 7,744 sq. ft. of coverage, the largest footprint in the 14-foot lineup, the Titan HVLS Fan is the right call when you need to cover every corner of a busy service bay or open-plan facility. Hunter Industrial's flagship HVLS model features a Direct Drive Motor and patented structural-grade steel blade holder. AMCA Certified. Backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

ECO 14'

An excellent balance of coverage and value. The ECO HVLS Fan covers 4,900 sq. ft. at up to 108 RPM, with blades designed by aerospace engineers for quiet, energy-efficient airflow. Making it a practical choice for facilities where structure or budget calls for a leaner installation. AMCA Certified. Limited Lifetime Warranty included.

XP 14'

Compact power for tighter installations. The XP HVLS Fan delivers the same 4,900 sq. ft. of coverage as the ECO at 108 RPM, but at just 121 lbs., the lightest option in the 14-foot lineup. The XP uses a fixed downrod (available in 2' or 4' lengths), which keeps the mounting profile clean and straightforward. A solid fit for spaces with consistent ceiling heights and tighter structural load tolerances. Limited Lifetime Warranty included. AMCA Certified (except XP 7').

14-Foot HVLS Fan Specs at a Glance

Use this table to compare performance side-by-side. All three models share the same 14-foot diameter. The differences come down to coverage footprint, speed, and hanging weight.

Series Max Affected Area Max Speed Hanging Weight
Titan 14' 7,744 sq. ft. 103 RPM 168 lbs
Eco 14' 4,900 sq. ft. 108 RPM 128 lbs
XP 14' 4,900 sq. ft. 108 RPM 121 lbs

Note: Max affected area assumes standard ceiling height and unobstructed floor plan. Consult our team for complex layouts or partial coverage scenarios.

The Mid-Size Space Specialist

The 14-foot diameter hits a sweet spot that a lot of facility managers are looking for: meaningful coverage. These are the spaces where 14-foot fans consistently earn their keep:

Automotive Shops & Garages

Service bays can run hot. Between the vehicles, the equipment, and the technicians working at close quarters, heat and fumes can accumulate fast. A 14-foot HVLS fan keeps the air moving continuously across the bay floor, helping to reduce heat stress on your team and dilute airborne contaminants. The Direct Drive Motor is whisper-quiet, you can hear a customer conversation or a diagnostic alarm without turning anything off.

Gyms & Fitness Centers

Members notice air quality. A 14-foot HVLS fan produces a wide, gentle column of moving air, nothing like the powerful airflow of an industrial ceiling-mounted fan near the squat rack. The airflow is even and quiet, and it won't interfere with classes or conversation.

Manufacturing & Light Industrial

When ceiling heights are moderate, and the floor is active with workers and equipment, consistent circulation matters, both for comfort and for destratifying the air so your heating system isn't fighting against its own output. All 14-foot models mount to standard I-beam, Glulam, Unistrut, or purlin structure, so in most light-industrial facilities, you're working with what's already there.

Sizing & Installation Pro Tips

A 14-foot HVLS fan is a straightforward installation in most mid-size facilities, but a few planning decisions upfront make a real difference in long-term performance.

  • Identify problem areas first: Before placing a fan, locate the heat-prone or stagnant air zones in your space: the center of the room, areas near machinery, and high-traffic spots. That's where your fan placement should start.
  • Recommended spacing (multi-fan installations): Fan spacing should be based on blade diameter. As a general rule, follow the guidelines for your specific model.
  • Ceiling height: Acceptable performance has been demonstrated from as low as 10 feet to as high as 50 feet above the floor. The 14-foot models work comfortably across that full range for most mid-size spaces.
  • Mounting height for Titan & ECO: The adjustable downrod (2.5–10 ft in 6-inch increments) lets you dial in the right hanging height for optimal floor-level airflow without a custom order.
  • Mounting height for XP: Uses a fixed downrod in 2' or 4' lengths. Clean, simple installation that works best in facilities with consistent, predictable ceiling heights.
  • Watch for obstructions: Beams, shelving, overhead lighting, and machinery can interrupt airflow patterns. Position fans to clear these where possible or reach out to our team to work through a layout.
  • Structural note: All 14-foot models mount to standard I-beam, Glulam, Unistrut, or purlin structure. Most facilities can use existing structures. Confirm load capacity with your structural engineer before installation.
  • Seasonal direction: In summer, run the fan to push air downward for a perceived cooling effect. In winter, reverse the direction to recirculate warm air that collects near the ceiling back down to floor level (it’s called destratification).

Pro tip: Contact us, we make it easy to determine the right fan type, size, and quantity for your facility based on square footage and ceiling height. If your space has irregular dimensions or multiple coverage zones, our team can help you directly.
